A Tulsa man got an unpleasant surprise on his birthday when the Jeep he and three friends were riding in was hit by a car in the Blue Dome District downtown. The driver of a red Dodge Charger with paper tags hit him and kept going.

"We saw the car head-on on a one-way street here downtown on South Elgin. It hit us head-on and then just drove off," said Robert Redman.

The Charger kept going - heading westbound on an eastbound one-way street. Fortunately, no one was coming.

The Dodge was riding on rims and police were able to track the gouges in the street to where they found the car abandoned in a credit union parking lot at 5th and Peoria. They said they would track the owner by the paper tags.
