The Warren Theatre held a special event Thursday night to support Broken Arrow Blue Star Mothers.
The theater showed the new war drama Citizen Soldier, which uses footage shot in Afghanistan by soldiers from the Oklahoma Army National Guard's 45th Infantry Brigade combat team, also known as the Thunderbirds.
"It makes it easier to talk about certain things about the deployment, what we went through. Things I wouldn't normally wouldn't share with anybody. They're gonna be able to see it on the film and it will make it easier to talk about,” said retired master sergeant, Raymond Viel.
All the proceeds from the event are going to the Broken Arrow Blue Star Mothers.
Citizen Soldier will be on Blu-ray, DVD and several streaming platforms August 30th.
