That night, News On 6 debuted "Pathfinder," a new weather tool to help meteorologists plot the time the storms would hit specific areas.
Chief Meteorologist Jim Giles used Pathfinder to warn people in the path of the storm. At 8:55 p.m. that Friday evening, he plotted the path of the storm, showing it would hit Oologah at 9:38, giving people there 45 minutes' warning.
There were injuries, but no one died. Many people in Oologah credit Pathfinder's warning for keeping them safe.
