Broken Arrow Police say a man doused his girlfriend with flammable liquid and followed her with a lighter asking if she wanted him to set her on fire. Travis Walbran was arrested on several complaints Sunday.
The woman was able to run from him and lock herself in a bedroom to call 911, according to Public Information Office Leon Calhoun.
Police say the domestic incident took place during an argument. The woman told police Walbran smashed her phone, pointed a gun at her and then left the home. When he returned, they again argued, and he reportedly choked her and poured the liquid for outdoor torches on her, records show.
He also tried to keep her from calling police on a land line, but officers were able to respond to the home, they said.
Walbran, 37, was arrested for assault and battery with a deadly weapon, felony pointing a firearm, domestic assault and battery by strangulation, and interfering with a 911 call, Calhoun said.
