Folks at Tulsa International Airport are working on ways to get travelers through security faster. The Transportation Security Administration has set up a special enrollment kiosk where you can enroll in the pre-check program.
Usually - if you want to enroll, you have to go off site to an office in east Tulsa near 145th East Avenue and Admiral. This week only, the process is set up right in the main terminal.
"We want to remove any obstacles that people may experience when they're traveling, and we think Pre-check is a great tool," said Alexis Higgins with TIA.
Pre-check clearance has been around for a couple of years now. By paying an enrollment fee and going through a federal background check process, you can breeze right through security.
"It's just simpler to get through," said traveler Jack Nation. "We travel - you're taking off your shoes and digging stuff out of bags, and you've got to put it back in. It just makes it cleaner simpler and - you know, I feel safer."
The special enrollment kiosk will last until Friday. You'll need a government ID and you'll have to pay an $85 application fee for the background check.
Once you're in the program, you'll get a Known Traveler Number you can put inside your reservation, which should show up on your ticket or on the mobile app.
