The excitement over tonight's 58th annual Grammy Awards is growing as music's best singers and musicians prepare to take the stage.

The awards show, hosted by LL Cool J, airs live tonight on CBS at 7 p.m. Watch Channel 6 starting at 6 p.m. for a red carpet special.

The show will be packed with unique collaborations and stiff competition. But with the recent deaths of so many music legends, this year's Grammys also promises to stir up a lot of emotions.

Rapper and nominee Pitbull will rock the Grammy stage with a diverse mash-up of musicians. The performance is part of a Grammy tradition that partners artists from different genres and generations and features rising stars like first-time nominee Andra Day.

Organizers say this year's Grammys at the Staples Center is different from previous years. The show will be filled with stirring tributes to honor the long list of music legends who died recently.

Album of the Year contender Chris Stapleton will lead an all-star tribute to Blues icon BB King. Gary Clark Jr. and King's close friend Bonnie Raitt will also perform.

Lady Gaga's homage to the late David Bowie is expected to be among the night's biggest performances.

The biggest spotlight, however, may belong to Taylor Swift who is up for seven Grammys and rapper Kendrick Lamar who leads with 11 nominations.

The Eagles will honor the band's co-founder Glenn Frey. And Natalie Cole, Earth, Wind, & Fire's Maurice White, Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland are among the other artists who will also be remembered.
