Jenks HS Band Helps Decorate Disney Float For Rose Bowl Parade

The Jenks Trojan Pride Band is marching in the Tournament of Roses Parade in California on New Years Day. 

But before the parade, the band is in Pasadena helping decorate the floats for the annual tradition. 

Jenks band members worked on the Disneyland float which is a recreation of Sleeping Beauty Castle. There are two adjoining floats featuring “Frozen” and the upcoming Star Wars Land. 

It takes hundreds of volunteers and thousands of purple flowers and other natural plants to cover every inch of the massive float.  The theme of the 2016 Rose Parade is “Find Your Adventure” to promote the centennial celebration of our nation’s national parks.    

The Tournament of Roses Parade begins at 10 a.m. Friday. The Jenks Band will be playing and marching to the song “Oklahoma”.
