Tulsa Shooting Victim Dies Of His Wounds

A Tulsa man who was shot in the head earlier this week has died of his injuries, Homicide Detective David Walker said Saturday. 

Leland Mitchell, 42, was backing his vehicle out of a driveway in the 1300 block of North Birmingham Place late Tuesday night when he was shot. Police arrested 27-year-old Marcus Runnels following a standoff.

Charges against Runnels will be upgraded from shooting with intent to kill, Walker said. 

Police believe the two men had been in an altercation, and Runnels shot Mitchell with a shotgun.
