Tulsa Councilor G.T. Bynum Announces Plans For Mayoral Bid

A Tulsa city councilor said he is planning to run for Tulsa mayor in 2016. G.T. Bynum has been a member of the Tulsa city council for seven years.

He announced on his Facebook page that he will submit the paperwork Monday to form his campaign. 

"There will be plenty of time to talk over the coming months about why I am running for Mayor, but the short motivation remains the same: our family is committed to Tulsa for the long haul, and I believe we have the capacity to build an even better city for the next generation of people we love," he said.

Bynum is a Republican who serves District 9 and is chair of the River Task Force.
