A man being arrested for DUI with four kids in the car laughed throughout sobriety tests and told authorities he was going to bond out and drink more, according to a Tulsa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
David Lee Jones remains in the Tulsa jail Sunday morning after being arrested late Saturday night.
A deputy saw Jones driving in west Tulsa around 9 p.m. and said the 38-year-old man crossed the center line twice and was speeding. The deputy said he could smell alcohol when he stopped Jones' Chevy Caprice.
There were four juveniles in the vehicle including at least one who should have been in a car seat, but there was no child seat in the Caprice, the arrest report states.
"Jones stated that they were his children and that he was going to Red Lobster to eat with the kids' mother," the deputy said. "Jones also told me that he had a 'six pack of 6-point beers.'"
"Jones laughed continuously during the tests and while he was in the car," the report continues. "Jones told me that he was going to bond out and drink some more."
The children were released to their mother who arrived at the traffic stop. Jones was booked on four felony counts of child endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, driving left of center and no insurance.
His bond was set at $111,500.
