A 13-year-old boy is recovering from surgery Saturday morning after being shot in the head at a home last night. The shooting led to a three-hour standoff between police and a person inside the home.
That man has been identified as Jonathan Ray Thomas who is in jail on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon.
The shooting and standoff unfolded in the 1100 block of north Denver a little after 5:30 Friday night when neighbors say they heard shots coming from near the home. They rushed to see what was going on and found the 13 year old lying on the porch with a gunshot wound to the head.

"He just put pressure on his head and held his hand and said a lot of Hail Marys," said neighbor Mike Kein.
During the standoff with police, several people came out of the home with their hands up. Thomas was booked on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records. Police say Thomas admitted to shooting the teen.
