Police Find Wanted Man Hiding In Tulsa Attic

Tulsa police arrested a man they say ran from officers and hid in a family's attic near 91st and Sheridan. Officers say they stopped Aaron Melson around 1:30 a.m. because he was jaywalking, but he ran off.

The Tulsa Police helicopter was called in, and they spotted Melson in someone's backyard. They then saw him go into the home. Officers surrounded the home.

The officers got permission from the homeowner to go inside, and Melson was found hiding in the attic, records show.

Police say he has multiple outstanding warrants, and they took him into custody. Records show Melson wasn't meeting sentencing requirements in connection to drug and weapons charges.

No one inside the home was hurt.
