A Grove man has died following a crash in Ottawa County early Saturday.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Timothy R. Glenn, 32, died at a Springfield, Missouri, hospital on Saturday night.

Glenn initially was taken by ambulance to Miami, then he was flown to Springfield.

According to OHP, Glenn was eastbound on County Road 230 south of Fairland when he departed the road to the left, went into a broad slide, struck a utility pole and a metal fence post and overturned an undetermined amount of times.

Glenn was pinned for about 25 minutes before being extricated by the Fairland Fire Department’s Jaws of Life.

OHP said Glenn was not wearing a seatbelt, and his condition was apparently normal at the time of the crash.

The investigating trooper said the cause of the collision was due to unsafe speed.
