Tulsa's Say No To Hate Coalition Hopes People Learn From OU Incident

Tulsa's Say No To Hate Coalition held a news conference on the steps at City Hall Wednesday morning to stand against what they called "bigotry" displayed by the members of the SAE fraternity at the University of Oklahoma.

The group said they applaud OU president David Boren for his quick response to the incident.

Toby Jenkins, Executive Director of Oklahomans for Equality and the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center said hate talk has got to stop.

"We've stood together with multiple groups making sure the message is clear, we as a community, we as Tulsa, say no to hate, say no to hate, this is hate, it's embarrassing and its awful," said Jenkins.

Jenkins hopes the OU incident will lead future generations to a greater understanding of harm that can come from hate speech.
