A car crashed into two Tulsa strip mall businesses early Wednesday.

Tulsa Police say the driver of a 2000 Ford Focus crashed into a clothing boutique and then the Jackson Hewitt Tax Office on 31st Street just east of Highway 169 at about 3:10 a.m.

Witnesses reported seeing a woman get out of the car and run to a nearby apartment complex.

Officers located Chanda Michelle White, 35, who claimed she had been carjacked just down the street at about 1 a.m. by three men and crashed the car in an effort to get away. Police said White claimed the three men got out of the car and ran away after the crash.

Officers said the car was westbound on 31st Street and went left of center, crossed a parking lot before hitting the businesses. When officers arrived the driver was gone.

Tulsa Police Sgt. Gregg Mathews says they were skeptical of White's claims because of the time difference given by witnesses and the White. And the witnesses didn't see anyone else get out of the car after the crash.

Mathews said Chanda White was cited for hit and run, driving under suspension and driving without valid insurance.

Police said the tax office sustained most of the damage in the crash.
