A water main break Monday which damaged a north Tulsa service station re-broke late Monday. Water department workers have again repaired the 12-inch line, and water has been restored, according to the City of Tulsa.

The water main at the curb in front of Shahin Alam's Phillips 66 gas station west of Sheridan on Pine broke Monday at about 9 a.m. sending water 30 to 40 feet into the air. That geyser brought down the station's awning causing thousands of dollars in damage according to Alam.

At about 10 p.m. Monday, the repaired water main broke again and workers were busy until the early hours of Sunday making repairs.

Because of the repair work, the two eastbound lanes of Pine in front of the gas station are closed to traffic. Laura Weber of the City of Tulsa said they will have to clean up the mud and repair the street before the eastbound lanes can be reopened.

Pine will have one lane open in each direction for the rest of Tuesday, she said.
