Tulsa Police say a determined homeowner helped officers catch a man burglarizing his home early Tuesday.

Officers said it happened at about 4:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of East 25th Street.

Police said the homeowner told them his house had been burglarized several times and he was sleeping in his car in an effort to spot the thief.

Officers said the victim awoke to see items from his home sitting outdoors, so he called police. While on the phone, the victim saw the thief return to get more items from inside the home.

Officers showed up and the burglar ran out the back door. They caught him in the backyard after a brief struggle. Police recovered the man's pickup parked down the street.

Police identified him as Ronald Wilson, 47.

When asked why he broke into the home, police said Wilson stated "I had my reasons."

Wilson was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of second-degree burglary and resisting arrest.  Jail records show Ronald Wilson was being held in lieu of $10,500 bond with a court appearance set for January 13, 2015.
