The Oklahoma State Cowboys are getting ready for its game against Washington in Tempe Arizona, not a bad place to spend New Year's Eve.
OSU wrapped up all of its bowl preparations for Friday night's Cactus Bowl matchup with Washington. The team had one practice Wednesday morning, along with media day, and will have a walkthrough Thursday. One of the hot topics surrounding the Cowboys has been the play of true freshman quarterback Mason Rudolph, who came out of redshirt for the injured Daxx Garman. He played well in the loss at Baylor, and then helped engineer the come from behind upset at Bedlam in Norman in the last game of the regular season.
Head coach Mike Gundy took a selfie with the assembled Oklahoma media, while some of his players commented on him. "You know, I like to see that. You know, that means that he's interacting with kids my age and technology. He's not going to be the grumpy old man,‘oh I'm going to watch TV and watch football, and I don't want to have anything else to do with you outside of football,'" said James Castleman. Ryan Simmons also said, "Being able to be in a bowl game and having this opportunity is something that we probably weren't even thinking about. Finishing this game out for our seniors and finishing off on the right note to carry us over to next season with a winning season is something we need."
