Snow, Speed Lead To Crash On BA Expressway In Tulsa

A 19-year-old man is in serious condition and another in the hospital after an accident on the Broken Arrow Expressway late Saturday morning.

The crash took place on the overpass bridge at Utica in Tulsa.

Police tell us a man driving westbound on the Broken Arrow when he swerved out of his lane and crossed into eastbound traffic. He smashed head on into a second car.

A third car had debris from the crash fly into their windshield.

Police at the scene said the driver of the westbound car was critically injured; however, EMSA spokesperson Kelli Bruer said he was transported in serious condition.

The driver of the eastbound car had what officers called non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe speed and snowy conditions contributed to the crash. Police say the driver that swerved into oncoming traffic also had very worn tires, and they believe that also played a role.
