BA Firefighters Union Calls Chief Hiring Process A 'Sham'

The Broken Arrow firefighters union is fired up about the hiring process for a new chief. Some are going so far as to call it a "sham."

A spokesman with Local 2551 claims there has been preferential and unequal treatment of candidates. A complaint was filed Nov. 7.

The Broken Arrow City Council said allegations will be addressed in a private meeting on Monday.

The union said firefighters have served under nine different chiefs and six city managers in the past decade.
