Collinsville Woman Hurt When Car Hit By Falling Concrete

A Collinsville woman was sent to the hospital after a chuck of concrete fell from a Tulsa bridge and went through the car windshield.

A woman was seriously hurt Monday night after a piece of bridge concrete came crashing through her windshield.

The Highway Patrol says Shannon Durham, 37, of Collinsville was southbound on Highway 75 when the concrete fell off the Archer Avenue bridge onto her 2006 Nissan sedan.

The OHP says her car traveled another 150 to 200 yards, went through the median, hit a guardrail and the ended up on the other side of the highway.

She was able to talk to first responders before being taken to the hospital in serious condition. The OHP said she had injuries to head, arm and torso.

The bridge was inspected after the incident.
