Driver Abandons Injured Child After Tulsa Wreck

A man ran off from a wreck overnight Saturday and left an injured 11-year-old boy behind, according to Tulsa Police.

Police say the driver of a black car was southbound on Yale at about 1:30 a.m. when he rear ended a red SUV at the 61st Street light. The man took off, abandoning an injured child in the car. Police say a Good Samaritan took the boy to nearby Saint Francis hospital for treatment. 

Police tell News On 6 the man driving the car was a friend of the child's family, and the mother of the injured boy would not cooperate in helping officers track him down.

The boy had a broken foot and unknown internal injuries, according to Tulsa Police.
