Oklahoma Remembers Victims Of 9/11 Attacks

Americans are observing the 13th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. in many ways.

In addition to ceremonies at the Pentagon and at Ground Zero, communities across Oklahoma will be marking the occasion with events of their own.

For instance, Claremore High School held an assembly at Lantow Field to honor first responders. The school band and choir lead the assembly. 

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin has ordered all U.S. and Oklahoma flags on state property to be flown at half-staff in honor of the victims of the attacks. 

Fallin issued a statement saying that 9-11 is a day to "mourn and remember" the victims of the attacks, to "keep in mind our troops who serve in our nations' military" and to remember the first responders who acted in response to the attacks.
