The state's Court of Criminal Appeals upheld the life prison sentence of a man convicted in a murder-for-hire death of a Tulsa businessman.

A judge sentenced Alonzo Johnson to life in prison in January of 2013. A jury found Johnson guilty of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder after the September 2008 death of Neal Sweeney.

Prosecutors said Sweeney was killed because he had stopped fuel delivery to a store owned by Mohammed Aziz.

Aziz pleaded guilty to soliciting the murder in 2012.

Prosecutors said that Johnson stole the getaway van and staked out Sweeney's office complex.
