Police are looking for suspects after finding a man shot to death inside an East Tulsa apartment. Police say someone fired five bullet holes in a door at Bristol Park Apartments near 45th and Garnett killing 46-year-old Michael Howell.
The death is Tulsa's 22nd murder of the year.
Investigators and the medical examiner were on scene Monday morning. Detectives are trying to figure what happened and who shot Howell.
Police say they responded to a 911 call around 11:30 p.m. Sunday after people called saying they heard gun shots.
An officer walked around an apartment building to find a door with five visible bullet holes and a dead man inside. They say one of the bullets went through an adjoining wall to another apartment, but no one was hit.
Witnesses told police several people with masks ran from the scene and possibly got into an SUV.
Shawn Garrett and his fiance moved into the apartment complex two weeks ago.
"I think deeply about my safety and the safety of my fiancee, he said. "Cause masked men, coming inside - now nowhere to be found. It's a big safety concern for this area."
TPD says they haven't arrested anyone in this case, but say there were several people present when the shooting happened - and they want to talk to them.
"We are investigating the crime scene, and there is limited information to go on at this time," Walker said in a news release.
