Sand Springs Man Dies When Truck Runs Off I-44

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Sand Springs man died when his truck ran off I-44 in west Tulsa late Tuesday.

The OHP said Kevin Quinnelly, 46, was driving his 2003 Chevy S10 pickup westbound on I-44 when he ran off the road for an unknown reason just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The truck hit a light pole and a tree.

"There is no determining factor why he departed the roadway, right now it's still under investigation," said Trooper Quenton Payne. "It could be medical, it could be car-related, we don't know."

Quinnelly was pronounced dead at a Tulsa hospital several hours later.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Quinnelly was wearing a seatbelt and airbags did deploy.
