A stabbing in a Bartlesville Taco Bell parking lot ended in arrest, but not until after the suspect assaulted a police officer, who then had a heart attack.

Bartlesville police were called to the fight at the fast-food restaurant on Green Country Road just after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

An officer attempted to take Benjamin Levi Walton, 29, of Wagoner, into custody. Walton assaulted the officer and tried to take his gun, BPD said.

The officer, along with several witnesses, was able to hold down Walton until backup law enforcement arrived, according to police. During the melee, the arresting officer suffered a heart attack.

The stabbing victim is a 49-year-old co-worker of Walton's who told police the two were sitting in their work truck when Walton stabbed him for no apparent reason.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer was rushed into surgery and is recovering in the intensive care unit.

According to police, a booking photo of Walton was pending for several hours because he was not being cooperative.
