Bill Knight Lincoln Hands Over $7K To Sand Springs Education Foundation

The Sand Springs Education Foundation got an early Christmas present Wednesday morning and it's the district's teachers and students who'll share in the gift.

Bill Knight Lincoln and the Lincoln Motor Company handed over $7,020, money raised when over 400 Sandites test drove new Lincoln automobiles on a Saturday in October, earning a donation with each drive.

Bill Knight says Sand Springs set a new standard for the Lincoln "Driven to Give" program.

"You should be really proud of your community. We've done a number of these and, by far, this is the biggest check we've been able to present, so congratulations, great job," Knight said.

The money will be distributed by the Education Foundation for teacher classroom grants.
