36th Annual Tulsa Run Draws Thousands Of Athletes

Thousands of runners, from very young to masters level, met the challenge at the 36th annual Tulsa Run. This year's event benefits the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

Racers had the opportunity to compete on 15K and 5K courses. Elite runners compete for a first place prize of $5,000 in the 15k race.

Announcers say the event now includes the USA Masters 15k championship with medals and prize money. There was also a 2k fun run.

The event is owned by the Tulsa Sports Commission, and the top sponsor is the Tulsa Federal Credit Union.

Conditions were chilly but dry, and organizers say the turnout was the best ever. Individual race results will be posted on the Tulsa Run web site.
