A 12-year-old Bryan County girl was awarded for her bravery Tuesday night in Tulsa.
Kendra St. Clair was home alone, when a stranger barged in. She called 911, grabbed the family gun and hid in the closet. When she saw the doorknob turn, she pulled the trigger, hitting the intruder in the shoulder.
She said 911 dispatchers helped keep her calm.

Tuesday night, Kendra was honored as Oklahoma's "911 Hero of the Year."
"It's not normal for you to be in that position, when you're 12. And her talking to me just soothed me down and made me less frightened," she said.
Dispatcher Donna Rutherford was also honored for a different case, which led to the arrest of a double murder suspect.
