Tulsa's American Airlines workers may be in for more turbulent times. At a meeting this week, workers were told that layoffs may be in the future.
A post on the union's web site says the cuts could come as early as the first of the year.
The union says the company is claiming to have 400 employees it doesn't need.
American Airlines: Turbulent Times
American Airlines says the operational assessment in Tulsa is not related to the merger.
"American's operational needs for 2014 are still being assessed as we revitalize our fleet and complete several aircraft modification initiatives. While no final decisions have been made, we will let our people know of any changes at the appropriate time," said Andrea Huguely, American Airlines spokesperson.
Local employees tell News On 6 there's no firm number on the cuts and negotiations are ongoing.
