Authorities say a 16-year-old girl reported an attempted kidnapping Wednesday night, after she said a man tried to force her into his truck.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office said the girl was running on County Road 4000 around 9 p.m., when a man in a late '90s model, white single cab Ford pickup pulled alongside her, one mile north of 186th Street North.
The sheriff's office said the girl told deputies the man offered her a ride, but when she said she lived close and didn't need a ride, he got out of the truck and walked toward her, saying, "No, I insist."
Investigators say the girl told deputies she took off running at that point. Now, the sheriff's office is looking for the truck and the driver.
Deputies say the girl described the driver as a white man, about 6-foot, 180 pounds, between 40 and 50 years old. She told deputies he had shoulder length gray hair, looked like he hadn't shaved for weeks.
Anyone with information is asked to call Captain Gary Miller at the Washington County Sheriff's Office at (918) 338-4001.
