Tulsa VA Holds Baby Shower For Veterans Who Are New Moms

Female veterans gathered to celebrated their expanding families Friday at the VA. The VA held a baby shower for new or expecting moms at the Ernest Childers Outpatient Clinic in Tulsa.

The Oklahoma Society Daughters of the American Revolution gave gift bags to the veterans.

While they were there, the women learned about the services the VA offers, tailored for women.

"In my heart, it's an honor. It is an honor to give something back to them, that they gave to us and gave to our nation," said program director Susan Hartsell.

That facility in Tulsa has a clinic specially designed for women, providing regular care as well as gender specific care for women.
