The Golden Hurricane women's soccer team hosts Colorado College and UTEP in a pair of Conference USA matches this weekend beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, respectively.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, while all youth (under 8th grade) wearing a soccer jersey get in free.
Tulsa had a 5-3-2 overall record, but will be looking for its first Conference USA win after losing to Rice (1-0) and tying Houston (0-0) last weekend.
Claire Nicholson has a team-leading five goals, while Stephanie Aitken and Rebecca Handley have recorded four goals each this season. Katie Bykowski and Hayley Harryman have shared time in goal this season and have combined for 35 saves and four shutouts.
According to the latest NCAA statistics, Tulsa ranks 33rd in goals-against average (.662), 49th in scoring offense (2.1 gpg) and 54th in save percentage (.833). Individually, Nicholson is 69th in goals per game (.625) and game-winning goals (2), and 85th in points per game (1.38), while Claire Hulcer is 70th in total assists (4) and 80th in assists per game (.44).
The Tigers (6-2-3, 1-1 C-USA) are led by Jessie Ayers with five goals, while Madison Whitehead has found the back of the net four times, and four others have scored more than one goal on the year. Tess Hall and Azia Nicholson both have five goals on the year to lead the Miners (7-4, 0-2 C-USA).
Colorado College has an 11-2 advantage in the all-time series with the Golden Hurricane, while the series with UTEP is tied, 7-7-2.
