Tulsa Clinches C-USA Championship

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane clinched a Conference USA championship Sunday with a 3-0 win over the Alabama-Birmingham Blazers, thanks to the heroics of Lacey Middlebrooks.

The junior pitcher was dominant in the matchup, picking up her 18th win of the season, giving up just one hit and striking out for in a complete-game performance. Additionally, all three of the Golden Hurricane's runs in the contest came from her bat, hitting a three-run home run in the top of the sixth.

Amber Torres (10-4) was credited with a loss for the outing, giving up the three earned runs on six hits, striking out seven in the process.

Tulsa will now head into the C-USA tournament as the top seed, which will take place starting May 9 in Birmingham, Alabama.
