A Pawnee County man is hoping to give a unique experience for Christmas. Don Plisco's farm near Terlton is covered with red cedar trees.
He's invited anyone to come out and cut their own tree and take it home. He says there's nothing like walking in the woods and cutting down your own Christmas tree.
He's advertised on Craigslist to tell would-be visitors to bring their own equipment but to be careful.
"You know some people, they have the enthusiasm but not the skills to necessarily do it right without putting themselves in harm's way," said Don Plisco.
"So I help them out when they come out here, let them figure out what's what."
The Tulsa Fire Department says if you're using a live Christmas tree look for one that has a sticky or waxy feel to the needles. That means there's more moisture in the tree and it's less flammable.
If you'd like to come out for a tree, you can call Plisco at 918-406-3228.
"You know there's an old saying - I don't know who said it - but 'the quickest way to put a smile on your lips is to put a smile on somebody else.' I totally believe in that," he said.
