Tulsa firefighters stopped a commercial building fire from moving into a nearby row of apartments overnight Saturday. The fire took place in the 800 block of East 3rd Street in Tulsa.
Tulsa Fire Department District Chief Eddie Bell said he did not know what caused the fire that broke out just before 1 a.m. on a holiday weekend. His crews had some difficulty entering the single story building because the occupants built heavy metal shelving near the front entrance.
The fire was limited to a fairly small area, Bell told The News On 6.
Smoke from the fire entered some second story apartments located next to the commercial building. Several units were temporarily evacuated.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
