FRISCO, Texas – The Tulsa Drillers dropped their fourth straight game with a 2-1 loss to start a series at Frisco on Saturday.
The Drillers managed just a single run for the third straight contest.
Frisco scored its only two runs in the fifth inning, but that was all it would need. Jose Felix singled to center field to drive in Jonathan Greene and Davis Stoneburner and give the RoughRiders a 2-0 lead.
Ben Paulsen homered for the Drillers in the top of the seventh to cut the lead in half.
Wilin Rosario followed it up immediately with a double, putting a runner in scoring position with no outs.
But the Drillers couldn't convert, as Bronson Sardinha grounded out and two more Drillers batters struck out to end the inning.
Josh Sullivan got the loss for Tulsa in four innings, and Alex White threw four innings as well.
Frisco went through five pitchers in the game.
The two teams will meet again at 6 p.m. on Sunday in Frisco.
