Steve Kragthorpe Diagnosed With Parkinson’s Disease

The former Tulsa head coach is giving up his coaching duties at LSU after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Former University of Tulsa head football coach, and current LSU offensive coordinator, Steve Kragthorpe has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

The announcement was made Thursday by LSU head coach Les Miles who says Kragthorpe is immediately stepping down from his position with the Tigers due to his health.

Kragthorpe will remain on staff at LSU as the quarterbacks coach while Greg Studrawa has been moved to the offensive coordinator position.

The 46-year-old was hired at LSU during the off-season. Before joining the Tigers he was the head coach at Louisville from 2007-2009.

Before that Kragthorpe was TU's head football coach from 2003-2009 where he compiled a 29-22 record while leading the Golden Hurricane to three bowl game appearances.
