Elk City Ousts Elgin; Takes Second in 4A-1
The Elks hang on to get the win over Elgin and take second in the district.

ELGIN, Oklahoma--Elk City traveled to Elgin in a big game with district implications on the line, and the Elks escaped with the 31-28 win.
In the second, Elk City led 10-7 and on first and goal the Elks handoff went to junior Keegan Metcalf who barreled his way into the endzone to go up 17-7.
Then with the clock running out before the break the Owls junior quarterback Garrett Lorah found senior Chalmer Wyatt open in the endzone to cut the Elks lead to 17-14.
In third quarter action, Elk City senior Stephen Ferguson took it to the end zone to give the Elks a 24-14 lead.
Elk City (8-2, 5-2) advance to the playoffs to face Douglass (7-2, 6-0) Friday Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Elgin (7-3, 5-2) travels to face Harrah (8-2, 5-2) Friday at 7:30 p.m.
