OKLAHOMA CITY -- It was the Richie Fruechting show Friday as Broken Arrow topped Putnam City West 58-6 in the district opener.
The senior running back 204 yards and three scores in the matchup, and was racking up yards from the opening gun. On Broken Arrow’s (3-1) first drive Fruechting ran for 65 yards on two rushes and a score.
The next drive showed no sign of slowing, as Fruechting scored on a 46-yard touchdown run to take a 14-0 lead. He added one more score for the opening 12 minutes, a one-yard touchdown run to cap off a 77-yard drive to take a three-touchdown lead.
The Patriots’ (0-4) only score on the night came on a run by Johnny Smith, but that was the only offense PC West could muster.
