TULSA, Oklahoma – Union’s starting guards torched Owasso Tuesday night in a 70-43 rout of the Rams. Quawan Carter and J.C. Hatrzler combined to score 25 of Union’s 36 first half points and shut down some of the Rams’ best players on defense.
Carter and Hartzler hit jumper after jumper in the first half to boost the Redskins’ early lead to double-digits. Union led by 11 after the first eight minutes and took a 36-13 lead into halftime.
Owasso struggled from the field in the second quarter. The Rams missed every field goal attempt from the floor and ended the quarter with just two Jeff Bontrager free throws. The senior guard scored a team-high 9 points.
Carter continues to lead Union on the offensive end of the floor each night. The senior led all scorers with 18 points.
Union will try to take its game to another level when they host Bishop McGuinness on Thursday. The Irish are the third-ranked team in 6A. Owasso will visit Muskogee on Friday.
