We know that this upcoming college football season may be one of the best the state has ever seen. Hard to believe just one year removed from all three state teams playing in the postseason for the first time ever, I know.

The newest preseason rankings are out from FoxSports. Yes, these preseason rankings are a dime-a-dozen. Every Bob, Joe and Larry out there with a keyboard and opinion can cyber-dork their way into putting together a list of Top 10 teams. But, this one is interesting to me.

The teams that matter to us: No 10. Oklahoma State and No. 5 Oklahoma … and Tulsa.

OSU is going to be great on offense. Weeden to Blackmon will be deadly again. The interesting thing to me is where the Stoops Troops landed. Fifth? Really?

Peculiar, it is.

They've got barrels of talent and buckets of upside. How did South Carolina, Oregon, LSU and Florida State leapfrog them? This list says it's because of the Sooners' schedule.

It's brutal. They face the tough Big 12 tests, (which includes two other Top 10 schools from the list) and get TULSA. The preseason rankings are calling TULSA a major non-conference road block. How's that for Conference USA and in-state respect?

I am really pumped for this upcoming season. Who knows… it might be the only football we have this fall. The face that OSU is top ten, OU is low, in my opinion, at five, and that Tulsa is a noted contender with the big boys should get you in a tizzy.
