MCALESTER, Oklahoma -- A retired Tulsa firefighter and now mayor of the Pittsburg County community of Haileyville was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of sexually abusing a child under the age of 12.

The charge filed in Pittsburg County court, alleges Delbert Starr, Jr. sexually abused a girl who was 3-years-old at the time.  Court documents said the incident occurred at Starr's home on November 9, 2009.

Starr was elected Haileyville's mayor in April.
