I don’t have high expectations for our two Big 12 schoolsthis postseason. The basketball has bounced funny for Oklahoma and OklahomaState all year. Will they win the conference tournaments?
Unlikely. There’s still a chance.but a slim one. Too many injuries. Too much inexperience.
That brings me to the NCAA contenders. The only way our state sees a team in the big dance is by winning a conference tournament. Tulsa has a pretty decentshot at a Conference USA tournament belt, while Oral Roberts is in line for apicture-perfect run to the Summit League crown.
TU is lumped in with a handful of teams at the top of theleague. ORU has already locked up the No.2 seed. The opportunity is there forthe Golden Hurricane and Golden Eagles.

Can they cash in?
<a target="""" title="""" href=""http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology?ttag=gen10_on_all_fb_na_txt_0001%20"">Not according to CBS Sports. They say that only one team apieceis making it to the NCAA tournament from the Summit League and Conference USA.Neither one is our guys.
They think Oakland will prevail from the Summit League andMemphis (surprise, surprise) will advance from C-USA.
There are doubters. Now it’s time for Tulsa and ORU to shutthem up.
May 26th, 2011
