NORMAN, Okla.—The University of Oklahoma Sooners continued spring practice Tuesday and both the coaches and players seemed pleased with their progress so far.

“Everybody is working hard,” said backup quarterback Drew Allen. “It’s good to have spring because it’s a learning process.”

After practice, nearly every coach and player talked about how well the team is competing and the strides they are making on both sides of the ball.

“Coming out of our first scrimmage, I thought we had some success, maybe as much success as we have had in an early scrimmage against our defense because our defense is pretty good,” said Coach Cale Gundy.

Allen, a sophomore backup for Landry Jones says spring is about getting better and he uses each practice to do so.

“The way I see it, I come every day to compete and compete like there is no set guy,” said Allen. “I come to compete, come to play, and everyday I’m getting better at something else and everyday as an offense I think we are making strides.”

The Sooners return to practice the rest of the week in preparation for the season. The annual Red-White Spring game is set for Saturday April 16 at 2 p.m.
