OKLAHOMA CITY—Former Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray is one of four finalists that could appear on the cover of the popular video game by EA Sports, NCAA Football 2012.
Murray, along with Auburn defensive tackle and Lombardi Award Winner Nick Fairley, 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and Washington quarterback Jake Locker are all in the running for the video game cover.
Fans can vote for their favorite candidate once a day until the campaign ends on April 4 on the EA Sports Facebook page.
In 14 games his senior season for the Sooners, Murray rushed for 1,253 yards and 15 touchdowns, and that combined with 595 yards and five touchdowns was enough for Murray to set the school record for all-purpose yards, touchdowns, points and receiving yards by a running back.
His career rushing total, 3,685 yards, was enough to rank sixth on the school’s all-time rushing list.
At the end of the campaign the athlete who receives the most votes will be on the cover and will be announced April 19.
