ELMHURST, Illinois - Oral Roberts forward Steven Roundtree was named Summit League Player of the Week for his performance last week in two key Golden Eagle victories.

Last week, Roundtree recorded two double-doubles and averaged 23 points and 12.5 rebounds to help the Golden Eagles finish second in the league. The honor is the first for the freshman from Jacksonville, Florida.

Thursday, the Golden Eagles faced IUPUI with the No. 2 seed at stake. Roundtree had a career-high night scoring 27 points on 10-of-12 shooting to go with 12 rebounds in ORU’s 92-74 win.

Then on Saturday night, ORU beat Western Illinois 69-57, a game in which Roundtree finished with 19 points and also had a career-high 13 rebounds to help ORU to its eighth straight victory.

With his impressive week of play, Roundtree became the first ORU freshman with a 20-point, 10-rebound game since the 2003-04 season and is the first ORU player in two years to have 25 points and 10 rebounds in the same game.

For the week, Roundtree shot 68.2 percent from the field, 94.1 percent from the free throw line and added three assists, two steals and one blocked shot.
