TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women continued their offensive tear Saturday in a 98-69 rout of North Dakota State.
ORU (15-7, 12-0) started the game on an 11-2 run and did not look back from there. The Golden Eagles never trailed and had multiple big runs in the second half to make the blowout even worse.
The Golden Eagles now have scored 90 points or more in four of their last six games, have won 11 games in a row and remain undefeated in conference play.
North Dakota State (10-12, 6-6) was plagued by turnovers all game. Katie Birkel committed eight on her own, and the Bison as a team had 25.
The rash of turnovers allowed ORU to attempt a total of 75 shots, making 38 of them. Kevi Luper had another big game, leading all scorers with 32 points on 14-of-21 shooting, including a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the 3-point line.
Jordan Pyle scored 19 points for the Golden Eagles and had five steals, and Savanna Buck added 15 points. Luper, Pyle and Buck combined to shoot 9-of-11 from long distance.
The Golden Eagles maintained their stranglehold on first place in the Summit League, a full three games ahead of IPFW and Oakland. ORU also already has beaten each of those teams twice this season.
ORU will not get a long break before its next game against South Dakota State at 7 p.m. Monday at the Mabee Center.
