Tulsa’s Charles Clay to Play in Senior Bowl
The Golden Hurricane halfback will play in the 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl.

TULSA, Oklahoma—University of Tulsa senior Charles Clay has been selected to play in the Under Armour Senior Bowl.
Every year the Senior Bowl features the country’s best senior college football talent and top NFL draft prospects from teams across the nation.
Clay, a 6-foot-3 halfback, was a four year starter for the Golden Hurricane and totaled 2,544 receiving yards and 911 rushing yards in 53 games during his career at Tulsa. His impressive career ranks him sixth on the school’s career receiving chart and second on TU’s all-time touchdown list with 38 scores.
His senior season, Clay earned All-Conference USA honorable mention after totaling 525 receiving yards, 226 rushing yards as well as a team-high seven touchdowns on 43 receptions.
The Little Rock Arkansas native also helped TU to two Conference USA West Division title wins and two GMAC bowl games.
This season Clay and the Golden Hurricane went out with a big win over Hawaii in the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl with a 62-35 victory over the No. 24 ranked Warriors.
Clay joins running backs Kendall Hunter of Oklahoma State and Oklahoma’s Marco Murraywho will also play in this year’s Senior Bowl.
The Senior Bowl will kick off Saturday, Jan. 29, at 3 p.m. CST from Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile Alabama.
Clay is the 26th Golden Hurricane player in school history to play in the Senior Bowl. The last TU player to play in the Senior Bowl was Garrett Mills after the 2005 season.
